My name's Alaina Foster and I run The Chip Fork from my studio on the Suffolk Coast. I create charming seaside themed products for people who appreciate being eyeballed by a googlie eyed seagull while in the comfort of their own home.
​
The Chip Fork's products feature my exclusive watercolour illustrations. I've been a professional artist and illustrator for many years and spend sunny days down at the seaside sketching.
​
My creativity is currently being consumed by creating charming nautical themed cards and souvenirs exclusively for retailers at wholesale prices, you can find more information on my website www.thechipfork.co.uk.

Do your customers go wild for walruses or buy anything with your town's lighthouse on?
I am always delighted when asked by my stockists to create something bespoke for them. If you would like a local landmark, the fish and chip shop or pub your town is famous for, or indeed your shop in a street scene included in your design it would be my pleasure, I love day tripping with a sketchbook!

Behind the scenes
The joy of creation!
Being on the Norfolk/Suffolk boarder I am fortunate to get the best of both worlds, the wide golden beaches of Lowestoft and Sea Palling, time travelling back along Thorpeness beach trails and Wells rich history, the windswept dunes of Kessingland and ever changing ones at Winterton-On-Sea.
Outside Office
A relaxing, inspiring space from which to sketch the wildlife and changing colours of the sea and skies. I have a sketchbook full of colours of the sea, the chip fork logo colour is my personal favourite at the moment and features in the seahens watercolour artwork. I call it Slate Sky Seafoam Ocean Teal, or perfection for short.

Call me old fashioned. I love the feel of working on pen and paper, of having something physical to explore my imagination on, and mop up spilt paint with.
In the studio
From my studio in Suffolk I playfully create watercolour paintings from my beach doodles. New look studio! By new I mean tidy, and a usable workspace with no canvasses to trip over, no more hazardously stacked up pots of paint and a clear desk to work from, sorry shells, back to the beach you go!
